Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar Celebrates National Mojito Day with a $1 Classic Mojito Special During Happy Hour on Thursday, July 11

Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Barlocated steps from City Center, will celebrate National Mojito Day by offering its Classic Mojito at a special price of $1 on Thursday, July 11 from 4-7 PM. Guests visiting the restaurant for happy hour, ages 21 years and older will receive a drink ticket to be presented at the bar to receive one Classic Mojito for $1. Known to be a favorite drink of author Earnest Hemingway, the mojito is a traditional Cuban highball consisting of white rum, sugar, lime juice, sparkling water and mint. Cuba Libre's version is made from a combination of freshly-pressed sugarcane (called guarapo), fresh lime juice, mint, Cuba Libre branded white rum and a splash of soda. It is one of 12 handcrafted mojitos available at the restaurant. The restaurant also offers an extensive rum list showcasing 90+ premium and flavored varieties from Guyana, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Tortola. Rums are priced between $8 and $84 per shot, while mojitos are priced from $10 to $13 by the glass, and from $50 to $65 by the pitcher. Cuba Libre's National Mojito Day special will be available exclusively at the bar during happy hour on July 11, with a limit of one mojito special per guest.

Mixologists and brothers Ari and Micah Wilder, along with their partners Adrian Williams and Minoru Ogawa, are pleased to introduce two new happy hours at their latest concept, Zeppelin, located at 1544 9th Street, NW. The sleek space pays homage to the Golden Age of the Great Passenger Airships and is the perfect gathering place to enjoy Edomae (Edo-style) sushi and craft cocktails. Japanophiles are encouraged to stop by for Sakana Hour, which is available exclusively at the second-floor, 20-seat sushi counter. Sakana Hour is served seven days a week, from 4 PM to 6 PM and boasts an extensive selection of sushi, available at discounted pricing. Guests can look forward to a rotating list of nigiri, hand-selected by distinguished Executive Chef/Partner Minoru Ogawa. A second-generation sushi chef with four decades of experience, Ogawa carefully chooses fish from the Toyosu Market in Tokyo, Japan, which are imported directly to the restaurant.  Signature pieces are priced from $2 to $3 each, and include Iwana, arctic char; Maguro, tuna; Tako, octopus boiled in-house with Mirin and sake; Suzuki, bronzini; Sawara, Spanish mackerel and Hirame, flounder.

Sababa, the newly opened “modern Israeli” restaurant located in the heart of Cleveland Park at 3311 Connecticut Avenue, NW, will celebrate Hanukkah, also known as the Festival of Lights, with a special to-go menu for those wishing to savor the restaurant’s “modern Israeli” cuisine at home. The menu begins with a platter of Hummus Tahina, served with pita followed by a choice of Israeli Salad with cucumber, tomato, onion and picked Sharon fruit or Potato Latkes with hawaij-spiced apples. Next, guests can select from one of the featured entrées: Schmaltz Braised Lamb Shoulder (4 oz per person), served with roasted carrots and chickpeas; Roasted Beef Brisket (4 oz per person), served with caramelized onion and shishito peppers, or the Charred Vegetable Couscous with harissa and garlic labneh. To complete the meal on a sweet note, guests will enjoy Apricot Konafi Bars with shredded filo and apricot labneh filling. This Hanukkah feast is priced at $35 per person (tax not included.) Red’s Table, located 11150 South Lakes Drive, Reston, Virginia 20191, is pleased to announce its Beer & Brat specials in celebration of the annual German folk festival, Oktoberfest. Guests can dine at Red's Table, from Saturday, September 22 through Sunday, October 7, 2018, as the restaurant brings a taste of Germany to the states, with traditional bratwurst specials created by Executive Chef Kevin Ettenson. These tempting German sausages will be paired with seasonal draft beers from local craft breweries, and will be available during lunch, dinner and happy hour daily.
