Men's Basketball: George Washington 85 Virginia State 58

Senior James Bishop IV (#11) led all scorers with 21 points

From our friends at GW Athletics...

Caputo Era Starts with an 85-58 Win Against Virginia State

Bishop goes for 21, ties career-best with nine helpers

That's how the official ledger will begin in the history books when Chris Caputo's all-time record as a Head Coach is listed. GW students emptied the residence halls and poured into the Charles E. Smith Center in Foggy Bottom on Monday night as the 2022-23 college hoops season began in earnest. It was the dawn of the Caputo era at GW and the massive student turnout did not leave disappointed. In a wire-to-wire win against visiting Virginia State, Caputo guided his charges and new-look Buff and Blue club to a runaway home win.

Men's Hoops Handles Business in Exhibition Win vs. Western Connecticut State, 78-61

Bishop provides team-leading 19, Edwards adds 18

If the unofficial start to the Chris Caputo era for GW men's basketball is any indication, the Buff and Blue can pack some offensive punch. Making the start in their first game experience on the Charles E. Smith Center floor, transfer students Max Edwards and EJ Clark found the iron kind in the cozy venue, as the pair connected on a combined 5-of-9 shooting from long range to spark a GW prolific attack from the home club in the 78-61 rout.

Styx (The Live and UnZoomed Tour) Concert Review

Lawrence Gowan and Styx rocked Jiffy Lube Live

Are You Ready for a Rock Show?

Few things (truly) improve with age. Blue jeans, fine leather and whisky leap to mind, but legendary music acts? Usually not, with one noticeable exception... Styx. The Chicago-based rock band turns 50 this year, but showed no signs of slowing down as The Live and UnZoomed Tour (with Loverboy and REO Speedwagon) stopped at Jiffy Lube Live last night. 24 hours later, and I'm still tapping my feet.
