Veganesha Opens in Woodley Park

Veganesha - 2623 Connecticut Avenue, NW

Woodley Park is (slowly) starting to show signs of life again. McDonald's is back, Flavorture opened yesterday (in the former Mayahuel/Murphy's of DC space on 24th Street) and now Veganesha has opened at 2623 Connecticut Avenue, replacing Bistro Bites (and its' ill-advised crepes lineup.) Veganesha calls itself, "a vegetarian and vegan eatery with an Indian twist." Considering it's surrounded by two other Indian restaurants (NaanwiseRajaji Curry House) on the same block, it better be some serious twist.

Washington, DC Travel & Adventure Show Photo Recap (Day 1)

Samantha Brown at the Travel Theater

The Washington, DC Travel & Adventure Show returned to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center yesterday, moving upstairs to the comparatively cozy confines of Hall D. The move made it easier to navigate, but there were a lot of people in attendance, which is (obviously) a good problem to have. Samantha Brown was back as well, headlining at the Travel Theater, to the delight of the standing room-only crowd. Brown returns this morning (11:30 AM - 12:30 PM) to further discuss "Trends, Challenges, Wisdom, and the Four Types of Travel We Will All Need in 2023," and, lucky for you, tickets (click here to purchase) are still available. Click here to see a full schedule of speakers, and... we wish you safe travels!

Carvings Food Review II

Hamburger + Fries at Carvings

Note to self: College food ain't cheap. A burger & fries (no drink) runs you $13 + tax, and takes 16 minutes to prepare (even when it's not crowded.) It's a lot cleaner than the college coffee shops of yesteryear, but is the food worth the trip? Let's find out.
