@obsessionmovie reminds us, “Be careful what you wish for.” Talk about underselling. Obsession is parts @CompanionMovie, The Exorcist and @SmileMovie with a delicious side of Inde Navarrette for great measure. The latter is terrific as nerdy Bear’s “freaky Nikki.” Her turn is smartly non-robotic, and even good enough for a possible Oscar nod. True horror stems from possibility (if not reality) and this movie does it in hypnotizing fashion.
Grade: B+ (If Bear’s character was more sympathetic, it could be even better.)
