$35 prix fixe dinner to celebrate Bastille Day

Bastille Day is July 14th. It is the anniversary of Storming of the Bastille on 14 July 1789, a turning point of the French Revolution, as well as the Fête de la Fédération which celebrated the unity of the French people on 14 July 1790. Celebrations are held throughout France. For those that can’t make it to The City of Lights or other cities in the country, Chefs/owners Christophe and Michelle Poteaux of Bastille restaurant in Old Town Alexandria, offer a taste of France to celebrate Bastille Day from July 8-14, 2019. All week long, the restaurant will offer a three-course $35 prix fixe dinner of French classics to celebrate the French National Holiday. Bastille’s regular menu will also be available.

The menu includes such staples as Escargots Provencales and Rillettes de Saumon as apps; to Moules Frites; Truite & Ratatouille; Poulet Basquaise; Magret de Canard and Steak - Frittes as entreés and for dessert, Chef Michelle offers Coupe Glacée; Crème Caramel à la Vanille; Profiteroles au Chocolat or Crêpes au Nutella.


The celebration continues with French ‘Coq-Tails.’ The Exile - a smooth blend of Brandy, Macvin Blanc, and Espresso-Chocolate; the E.F.L. - Hendricks’s Gin, Organic Cucumber Mint Sparkling Wine, and Lime and the classic French 75 - Citadelle Gin, Lemon and Sparkling Wine. Each is priced at $10.

Bastille is open for dinner on Monday at 5 pm, for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Saturday from 11:30 AM until 10 PM and Sunday 11:30 AM until 9 PM, serving brunch, lunch, dinner and all day dining with café and bar menu offered.
