Washington, DC Travel & Adventure Show Photo Recap (Day 1)

Samantha Brown at the Travel Theater

The Washington, DC Travel & Adventure Show returned to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center yesterday, moving upstairs to the comparatively cozy confines of Hall D. The move made it easier to navigate, but there were a lot of people in attendance, which is (obviously) a good problem to have. Samantha Brown was back as well, headlining at the Travel Theater, to the delight of the standing room-only crowd. Brown returns this morning (11:30 AM - 12:30 PM) to further discuss "Trends, Challenges, Wisdom, and the Four Types of Travel We Will All Need in 2023," and, lucky for you, tickets (click here to purchase) are still available. Click here to see a full schedule of speakers, and... we wish you safe travels!

Auto Show Follows District of Columbia COVID Protocols for 2022 Show

In accordance with guidelines announced by Mayor Muriel Bowser and the District of Columbia, the Washington, D.C. Auto Show will require all show guests to wear a mask while inside the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, and show proof of vaccination upon entering the building (including proof of the first dose for children 12 and older). This announcement comes on the heels of the new COVID variant, Omicron gaining momentum and threatening the health of our communities. As the auto show team is in the midst of planning for its January 21 through 30 return to the nation's capital, they are paying close attention to the city and federal requirements in order to take the necessary proactive steps in response to this ongoing public health crisis.

Awesome Con 2017 Photo Recap - Day 2

Imagination Overdrive Balloon Animals

Awesome Con has come a long way in five years. Early on, it was guest-heavy (i.e. William Shatner, Kevin Smith & Adam West) with a dash of cosplay. This year? A few big names (ahem... Stan Lee!) but the number of guests in costume? Literally, out of this world! Navigating the aisles has gotten more difficult as well... par for the course with record-setting crowds; but the end result is an exciting/unmatched atmosphere that might just be the most exciting event of the year at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. Missed the first two days? Don't despair. Awesome Con continues tomorrow with a full schedule (10 AM - 5 PM) followed by a (sold-out, sorry) After-party at the Hard Rock Cafe. Click here to purchase tickets.
