Outcry announces dates and the line-up for the 18-city Outcry: Spring 2017 Tour, which champions, represents and promotes the local church: the Bride of Christ. The tour will highlight the creativity, heart and mission of the local church. Featuring a unique combination of artists and worship leaders, Outcry: Spring 2017 Tour provides attendees with a rare opportunity to see this group of artists together on one stage. The upcoming season celebrates the chorus’ 75th anniversary with four programs featuring 15 guest soloists, 4 guest ensembles, and more than 50 works of music, including a newly-commissioned carol by composer Carson Cooman and a new work for symphonic chorus and orchestra by composer Nico Muhly.

Washington, DC Hosts Curtain Raiser to the Art of Living's World Culture Festival

On February 23, 2016, Washington’s national and local thought leaders joined the Art of Living Foundation in hosting the first Curtain Raiser for the upcoming World Culture Festival. Held at the Art of Living Foundation’s Sri Sri Center for Peace and Meditation on 15th Street, NW, the standing-room only event was a prelude to the World Culture Festival (WCF) - the Foundation’s historic 3.5 million person gathering for peace in Delhi, India, from March 11-13, 2016. The evening saw attendance by several national and local leaders, including Congressman Ed Whitfield; Ambassador Taranjit Singh Sandhu, DCM, Embassy of India; Dr. Sanjay Pradhan, Vice President for Learning, Leadership & Innovation, The World Bank; and Rev. Dr. David McAllister-Wilson, President of Wesley Theological Seminary. Representatives of major faiths, other community leaders, and local residents also joined and expressed their solidarity with the cause.

Washington Bach Consort Joins for a Celebration of Vivaldi’s Music

The Cathedral Choral Society will present the third concert of its 2015/16 season, Vivaldi Gloria, on February 21 at 4:00 PM. The Cathedral Choral Society, conducted by Music Director J. Reilly Lewis, will be joined by the orchestra of the Washington Bach Consort, as well as soloists Meg Owens, oboe; Josh Cohen, trumpet; Jennifer Ellis Kampani, soprano; Robin Beckman, soprano; Roger Isaacs, countertenor; Patrick Kilbride, tenor; and Karl Hempel, bass.

Washington Hebrew Congregation Hosts 36th Annual InterFaith Concert, November 19th

The 36th annual InterFaith Concert will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Washington Hebrew Congregation (3935 Macomb Street, NW, Washington, DC). The event will begin at 7:30 PM, and feature an amazing line up of diverse music and dance performances from local religious communities. In addition, we will be honoring Ambassador Jim Nicholson, former Secretary of Veteran’s Affairs and U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See with the Interfaith Leadership Award.
