Oysters Anyone?
Sundays are (usually) meant for rest, but Talia’s in town, so we went to @TheWharfDC. It was hot 🥵 as Hades, and we popped into Hank’s Oyster Bar for a late lunch. Cue culinary joy! $10 Hushpuppies (5-count) to start… hot, creamy (real corn kernels) and scrumptious with a cayenne remoulade sauce for dipping. A+ followed by a smart-looking $20 Shrimp Po’boy with Old Bay Fries & Cole Slaw. Great toasted roll with 8 zesty 🍤, lettuce, tomato & more of the aforementioned remoulade (I wanted even more.) OK Slaw with a bit too much mayo, yet not enough 🥕. Fries were twice-fried, crispy and sufficiently spicy (Talia loved ‘em!) Overall, a great Po’boy and an even better lunch experience. Attentive, fast & friendly service, but noisy (and warm) inside.
