Sakerum, the Latin-Asian restaurant located in the bustling 14th Street corridor at 2204 14th Street, NW, will kick off the dog days of summer with two exciting specials, which will be available during the month of August. First up, those who make a dinner reservation during the month of August will receive a complimentary Sake-Rum Punch to toast the restaurant’s first anniversary. This special libation will be available for reservations made August 1-13 and 21-31 (this promotion will not be available during Summer Restaurant Week.) The Sake-Rum Punch pairs well with Executive Chef Khan Gayabazar's featured shared small plates. Highlights include the Big Crunch Theory Roll with tuna tartar, shrimp tempura, avocado, pickled jalapeño, wonton crisps and toasted black sesame seed aioli; Tostones, fried plantain with guacamole, grilled corn salsa and wasabi peas; Wakasagi Karaage, fried smelt with sweet & spicy aioli; Mero Chilean Sea Bass with sweet miso glaze, black bean paste, pickled daikon and a wakame and micro green salad, as well as Kushi, grilled barbecue short rib skewers with sesame seed, edamame, corn, garlic and pickled onion. Appetizer and entrée options range in price from $5 to $58.

Additionally, Sakerum will offer $5 rum (rail) cocktails for all guests dining on Wednesday, August 16th in honor of National Rum Day. Guests can indulge in tempting classic rum-based cocktails such as Cuba Libres, Mojitos, Hurricanes, and Frozen Piña Coladas.
