Copperwood Tavern Field Trips: Bringing Customers Straight to the Source of Their Meals

Copperwood Tavern is excited to announce the first ever Copperwood Tavern Field Trip to Old Ox Brewery on April 16th to Old Ox Brewery in Ashburn, VA.

We believe in the importance of knowing where your food and drinks come from, which is why we will be offering these exciting day trips to local farms, breweries and wineries where guests will sample, socialize and have a great time!


The day will begin at Copperwood Tavern in Shirlington Village (4021 Campbell Ave, Arlington, VA 22206) where guests will enjoy coffee, mingle, and board a bus that will transport everyone to Old Ox Brewery. While on the bus, farm-fresh Copperwood boxed lunches will be served. Upon arrival, the real fun begins with an extensive beer tasting and a brewery tour where customers will get to see where some of their favorite beer is made before it arrives at our bar. This trip is an opportunity for our customers to learn more about what goes into what they are eating and drinking and about the individuals behind it all.

We chose to be a Farm to Table restaurant because it represents the freshest product available. All of our meats come from local farms less than two hours away and our fish is pulled from the Atlantic. We are supporting the local farmers and economy and it's our passion to teach people how much better fresh and natural food can be. These field trips are a big step towards furthering support for our suppliers and educating the community.

Our menu also changes seasonally so we can highlight the freshest produce possible.


The Bar program at Copperwood Tavern is just an extension of our kitchen and offers a culinary approach in classic mixology. We use the same local and fresh ingredients to make all of our homemade syrups and mixers, and our drink menu changes seasonally, to incorporate seasonal flavors and ingredients with selected traditional and local craft spirits. Drinks are served in custom glassware, poured over custom ice cubes, mixed with house-made syrups and finished with a dash of bitters.

Customers can enjoy four different menus while dining at Copperwood Tavern. Brunch, Lunch, and Dinner are served throughout the restaurant during their respective times. Patrons looking for a “lighter fare” menu may also enjoy our Bar Menu, offered exclusively in the Bar and lounge area of the restaurant starting at 4:00 PM daily.
