Celebrated Modern Indian Restaurant Indique in Cleveland Park Debuts Holi Festival-Inspired Dishes - 'Thali' Specials

Available Wednesday, March 23rd (dinner service only)

On Wednesday, March 23rd only - modern Indian restaurant Indique (3512-14 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC 20008; (202) 244-6600; www.Indique.com; @IndiqueDC) based in the heart of Cleveland Park on Connecticut Avenue - is celebrating India’s favorite festival of colors - Holi - by offering up an assortment of authentic holiday-inspired fare during dinner service. Holi is a popular spring festival that is also widely known as the festival of colours or the festival of sharing love. It is an ancient Hindu religious festival, which has become popular with non-Hindus in many parts of South Asia, as well as people of other communities outside Asia including the United States.

Available for dinner service only on Wednesday, March 23rd beginning at 5:30 PM, Chef Vinod and team will be offering up Holi-inspired Thali specials featuring an option for both vegetarians ($22 per person) and non-vegetarians ($24 person.) A thali is a traditional Indian platter that is composed of an assortment of small dishes providing a balanced meal while incorporating an exciting variety of flavors and textures including salty, sweet, tangy, and crunchy, just to highlight a few. Thali is often enjoyed during Holi, so Chef Vinod and the team at Indique wanted to be able offer up a unique Holi-themed culinary experience for festival-goers throughout the DC area.

“In addition to Diwali, Holi is an extremely exciting holiday for the Indian community and is also quickly becoming popular in the US, including a large Holi festival taking place right here in the DC area in Potomac Maryland this year”, said Executive Chef and Co-Owner of Indique, K.N. Vinod. “Holi has always served as a festival that allows us to have fun casting out negative energy and spirits from our lives as we look to instead welcome love and good energy/spirits back in! In addition to the colorful aspect of the festival, the culinary aspect also plays a large role in the celebration, so we thought it would be extremely exciting for Indique to offer a variety of Holi-inspired dishes for our guests to enjoy - sweet and savory - after they’ve had a chance to clean up a bit after being covered in colorful powders.”
