Each spring, visitors flock to the Washington, DC region to take in the sights of 3,000 blossoming cherry trees that adorn the nation’s capital. 1. Refreshing Escape: Visitors to Relache Spa can experience seasonal cherry blossom treatments infused with the scents of cherry and spring blossoms from March 1 through April 30. Spa-goers can choose from a body scrub, hand treatment, pedicure, massage and sole rejuvenation treatment. 2. Cherry-inspired Beverages: Guests can sip their way through a variety of cocktails that pay homage to the famous blossom at the hotel’s Belvedere Lobby Bar and National Pastime Sports Bar and Grill. Choose from the gin-based Cherry Clover Club or vodka-based Fiore at Belvedere, or the Cîroc Cherry Blossom at National Pastime. National Pastime diners also can enhance their cherry-inspired experience with the addition of a warm, gooey cherry pie á la mode.
3. Blossoming Events: Groups ranging from 400 to 800 guests can enjoy the beauty of Gaylord National’s uniquely designed Cherry Blossom Ballroom. With dramatic crystal chandeliers and a hand-painted mural of cherry blossom trees, the ballroom acts as a perfect setting for elegant celebrations year-round.
4. Suite Dreams: Guests of the hotel’s Asian-influenced Red Suite, one of the resorts eight concept suites, can enjoy cherry blossoms infused into the design. 5. Spring Beauty: Visitors don’t necessarily need to venture into the city to see their fix of cherry blossoms. Gaylord National offers more than two dozen cherry trees that decorate its entrance and riverside walkway along the Potomac River. Guests who still want to be in the center of all the festivities also can enjoy a water taxi ride from Potomac Riverboat Company to the National Mall from National Harbor’s pier. The water taxi service also provides a Cherry Blossom Cruise Saturdays and Sundays from April 2 through April 17 from Gaylord National’s private dock.
