Lena’s Wood-Fired Pizza & Tap to Offer 'Big Game' To-Go Platters & Happy Hour Specials in Honor of Super Bowl 50
Lena’s Wood-Fired Pizza & Tap, located in the Rosemont area of Alexandria, Virginia at 401 E. Braddock Road, will mark Super Bowl 50 with a special ‘Big Game’ to-go platter available on Sunday, February 7th. Hungry sports fans can enjoy Lena’s hearty Italian dishes, from the comfort of their own home. For $40 (tax and gratuity not included), interested patrons can order a Mixed Greens Salad with cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, shaved red onions and a garlic-red wine vinaigrette; 24 Chicken Wings, choice of Italian wood-fired, parmesan, or buffalo; four of Lena's Giant Meatballs, 10 oz. house-made beef meatballs stuffed with fresh mozzarella, served with marinara sauce, and Grilled Focaccia. Each order serves six guests, and can be doubled, or tripled to serve larger parties. Lena's signature 10-inch and 14-inch pizzas may also be added to any order; regular menu pricing applies. Pigskin fans are also invited to watch the big game at Lena’s as the restaurant features a large and inviting bar area with numerous flat-screen TVs throughout. While at the bar, guests can enjoy complimentary wood-fired almonds, and happy hour specials from 5 PM to 9 PM, including select pints priced at $5, and featured wines by the glass priced at $6. Guests can also sip signature cocktails priced at $7, including the Blood Orange “Negroni” with Skyy blood orange vodka, Campari, sweet vermouth and blood orange purée; the Disaronno Smash with Disaronno amaretto, Woodford Reserve bourbon, red raspberry purée, lime, cranberry juice and mint; the Tuscan Breeze with Bombay Sapphire gin, Ramazzotti, grapefruit juice, and lavender syrup; the Nonna with Jim Beam bourbon, Amaro Ramazzotti, sherry and orange bitters; the Sicilian Spritzer with Stolichnaya Ohranj vodka, blood orange purée, ginger ale, honey, balsamic vinegar, lemon juice and basil, and the Italian Margarita with Disaronno amaretto, Milagro blanco tequila and lemon juice.
Diners can also savor happy hour bar snacks throughout the game. Highlights include Farinata, wood-fired chickpea pancake with rosemary, cracked black pepper and sea salt; Wood-Fired Chicken Wings, olive oil marinated with lemon, rosemary, garlic and caramelized onions, served with focaccia; Bruschetta, grilled focaccia with tomato, basil, garlic, oregano and extra virgin olive oil; Arancini, crispy fried Arborio rice balls with green peas, parmesan and marinara, and Friggitelli, crispy fried baby green peppers with sea salt, served with grilled focaccia. Happy Hour snacks range in price from $5 to $7.
