The Connection (La French) Movie Review

Jean Dujardin stars in The Connection

The French Cowboy

IMDb Plot: A French police magistrate (Jean Dujardin) spends years trying to take down one of the country's most powerful drug rings.

"The true force of an untouchable is the silence he invokes." Fighting heroin kingpins/thug-ocracy is no easy task; but Dujardin delights/excels after a "big promotion" from juvenile court to organized crime. The Connection is similar to The French Connection (only French) with touches of Heat, especially when it comes to showcasing its main characters outside of work. Gilles Lellouche plays a terrific foil; but The Connection shines brightest when Dujardin is on the attack, flashing his trademark smile during multiple moments of playful sarcasm. Expect violence too; but not enough to distract you from a very compelling story.
