Fairmont Washington, DC, Georgetown Announces 9th Annual Gingerbread House Making Classes

Executive pastry chef teaches adult and children's classes

Fairmont Washington, D.C., Georgetown is pleased to announce their ninth annual gingerbread house making classes. Just in time for the holidays, Executive Pastry Chef D’Oyen Christie will provide festively expert instruction for the adult and children’s glasses.

Children’s Gingerbread Class:
On Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 10:30 a.m., children will assemble and decorate their very own holiday Gingerbread House under the direction of Chef Christie. The class includes all materials, instruction and holiday refreshments. At the end of the class, each child will take home a completed Gingerbread House. Children’s gingerbread class is $50 per child, adults may accompany children at no cost.


Immediately following the class, children are invited to gather round the hotel’s own gingerbread display in the lobby to hear Executive Chef Mark Timms read a collection of holiday classics.

Adult’s Gingerbread Class:
On Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 6:00 p.m., Chef Christie will share his gingerbread decorating secrets, while guests create their own holiday gingerbread house. The class includes all materials, expert instruction and holiday hors d’oeuvres and libations. At the end of the class, each adult will take home their own completed gingerbread house.
