Illusionist Ivan Amodei Returns for Valentine's Day Weekend

The Magic of Cupid

Looking for a clever way to celebrate Saint Valentine's Day? Dinner at a nice restaurant? How predictable (and expensive.) Flowers? Yawn. A movie? Now, you're just being cheap. Besides, do you really think you're going to impress your significant other with a tub of popcorn and The Lego Movie? Why not do something different this year? Something luxurious, that's both entertaining and affordable. Allow me to recommend an evening with master illusionist Ivan Amodei at the historic Mayflower Hotel.

Amodei returns to the nation's capital for a special two-night engagement on February 14th and 15th, performing a total of five shows (7 and 9:30 Friday night, 4, 7 and 9:30 on Saturday.) The 90-minute performances are nothing short of fabulous, set against a magical (pun intended) background of candles, classical music and impossible feats of illusion. What more can you ask for on Cupid's special day?

Opening night happens to fall on a full moon next Friday... As if Ivan needed any help in setting a playful mood. His September show last year was unlike anything you'd expect to find in Washington (Amodei plays almost exclusively at the world famous Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills.) It was hands down, my most favorite event of 2013; and I saw just about everything.

Tickets range from $65-$100, with special deals still available on Goldstar Events (act fast.) Click here to purchase tickets online. Best of all, his show appeals to both men and women (hey fellas, try finding that at the opera.) I guarantee you won't be disappointed. If you go, be sure to stick around after: Ivan likes to personally thank each and every member of the audience for coming (just in case he didn't get to you during the show.) Very cool.
