Count Gore Presents Phantasm
Saturday, July 27, 7:30 PM

Following upon February's sold-out sensation HOUSE OF FRANKENSTEIN, local legend Count Gore De Vol (aka Dick Dyszel) returns from his crypt to present another of his favorite moldy oldies, originally presented on local station Channel 20's CREATURE FEATURE. In the spirit of the original broadcasts, this special presentation will feature the Count hosting on stage, with interactive intermissions and lots of ghoulish good fun and surprises in store. Co-presented with the Spooky Movie International Horror Film Festival (spookyfest.com).

PHANTASM

Underground auteur Don Coscarelli (BUBBA HO-TEP, JOHN DIES AT THE END, THE BEASTMASTER) launched his career as a purveyor of weird fantasy with 1979's PHANTASM, which eventually spawned three sequels and became his signature franchise. A death-haunted young boy named Mike Pearson (A. Michael Baldwin), recently orphaned, notices weird goings-on at a local funeral parlor, and discovers a bizarre grave-robbing plot hatched by a visitor from another dimension - a frightening figure known only as "the Tall Man" (Angus Scrimm). DIR/SCR Don Coscarelli; PROD Dac Coscarelli. US, 1979, color, 88 min, 35mm. RATED R
