Dupont Circle Spot Will Soon be the “Better Burger” in Town
Smashburger is thrilled to announce the arrival of its flagship location in downtown Washington, DC, slated to open early August. Situated just north of Dupont Circle at 1739 Connecticut Ave. NW, the new restaurant is the first to hit the DC market, adding to the Fairfax, VA location with more openings slated as part of the concept’s plan for growth in the capital area.
At the nation’s fastest growing “better burger” concept, the secret is in the smash. Every burger starts with fresh, never frozen, 100% Certified Angus Beef, smashed on a 400 degree flat grill to sear the juicy flavor. To further the “better burger” experience, the signature patties are served on toasted artisan buns and topped with a selection of the freshest produce, real cheeses and highest quality condiments.
Dupont Smashburger will show off a sleek, urban design with 47 seats and custom murals that pay homage to the people and historic landmarks of the District, as well as an exclusive menu of regional items crafted to please local palates. Featured recipes include the Capital Burger and Capital Chicken Sandwich, served solely in the DC area and topped with grilled onions, aged Swiss cheese, baby arugula, applewood-smoked bacon, tomatoes and mayo on a brioche bun. Additional signature burgers include the Truffle Mushroom Swiss with truffle mayo, sautéed baby portabella mushrooms and aged Swiss on an egg bun and Spicy Baja with fresh jalapenos, guacamole, pepper jack, lettuce, tomato, onion and chipotle mayo on a spicy chipotle bun.
“For the Dupont Circle store, we’ve designed a menu fit for every city-dweller’s food fantasy – from a lunch-time bite to a gratifying after-work meal,” says Smashburger Founder & Chief Concept Officer Tom Ryan. “The community will be pleased with our hand-picked selection of Smashburger classics, creative combinations of flavors, superior products, fresh ingredients and the ease of choosing to order from an array of menu variety.”
Smashburger is more than just burgers, though. Diners at the new location can enjoy tender marinated chicken sandwiches such as the Avocado Club layered with applewood-smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato, ranch dressing and mayo on a multi-grain bun; vegetarian options like the Spicy Veggie Black Bean Burger with fresh jalapeños, guacamole, pepper jack, lettuce, tomato onion, chipotle mayo and a spicy chipotle bun, three, fresh crispy green salads: the Harvest, Classic Cobb and Baja Cobb, and Veggie Frites, flash fried, seasoned carrot sticks and green beans; in addition to other can’t-miss accompaniments like rosemary and garlic-seasoned Smashfries and Haystack Onions.
Beverages don’t stop at regular soft drinks. For something sweet, guests can treat themselves to the Oreo®, Nutter Butter® and Butterfinger Shakes or IBC® Root Beer Float. Local craft beers including Devils Backbone Brewery Eight Point IPA and Vienna Lager will also be available.
