GW Men Crush Hofstra 80-56

Frosh Kevin Larsen (21) scores in the first half

The George Washington men's basketball team got back on track today, routing Hofstra 80-56 in front of 1,371 at Charles E. Smith Center. The win evened the Colonials record at 2-2. Hofstra fell to 3-4, with all four of their losses coming on the road. Senior Lasan Kromah led GW with 15 points on 7 of 10 shooting, while freshman Kevin Larsen added 14 points and six rebounds. GW shot an incredible 61.8% from the field and finished with a 26-7 advantage in assists.

After going in at halftime with a 38-22 lead, the Colonials got even better in the second half, shooting 71.8% (17-24.) Colonials senior Isaiah Armwood had another great outing, scoring 12 points with a game-high 10 boards and five blocks. Hey G-Dub, we got ourselves a legit big man for a change. The Colonials have a day off tomorrow before returning to Smith Center on Monday to host Mount. St. Marys (1-3) and their suffocating full court press. Let's hope guards Joe McDonald and Bryan Bynes come ready to play. I saw the Mountaineers last week at American, where they caused 23 turnovers in a tough 62-57 loss... They don't let up for a second.
