DC Shot of the Day: Spanish Steps

Spanish Steps fountain

DC has its fair share of famous steps... The Washington Monument has 897 of them (too bad you can't climb them anymore... I did it when I was a kid.) The Exorcist steps in Georgetown are still scary to walk down; and the ones at the Lincoln Memorial are probably the most sat upon in the area. But not many locals know about the Spanish Steps in the Kalorama neighborhood at 22nd and S Streets, NW.

Next time you're near Dupont Circle (or on your way to Georgetown) why not mozy on over, and enjoy one of the best views of the city? It's particularly nice in the summer, when the fountain is operational. As an added bonus, you can also see one of DC's once popular Panda Sculptures (in yellow, no less.)
