| Classic Brisket Sandwich at Tejas Barbecue |
Classic Brisket Sandwich ($14) & luscious $6 Carrot Soufflé at Tejas Barbecue, part of just-opened #Wonder food hall in West End. S’wich was ok, but not up to Wonder’s lofty standards. Cold bun & hardly any Carolina gold sauce, which results in a cold, dry product. The brisket itself was good but definitely needed sauce/moisture. C- On the other hand, the Soufflé was incredibly moist & delicious. Half-dessert, half-side and ALL scrumptious. A- Next time, I’ll pony up an extra $4 for the brisket entree & its sauce trio. Sandwiches begin & end with good bread, and this one wasn’t up to par.
Grade: B- (As for the space itself, kinda small compared to our favorite (Rosslyn))
