Rasika West End Introduces Coastal Cuisine of India

Rasika West End Washington, DC, located at 1190 New Hampshire Avenue, NW, invites guests to experience the rich flavors of coastal India. A country diverse in its cuisine, coastal dishes of India are based around fresh seafood and coconut milk, with each state differing their flavors and presentation. James Beard award-winning Group Executive Chef Vikram Sunderam and Rasika West End Head Chef Rakesh Singh are pleased to announce the introduction of eight new dishes typically found in the coastal states of India. Items will be available a la carte exclusively from January 22-31, during lunch and dinner service.

Guests can look forward to a modern expression of the region’s traditional dishes such as Halibut Malvani Curry with coconut, cinnamon and coriander seeds ($30); Lobster Bengali with onion seeds, mustard and fenugreek ($34); Coondapur Chicken with black pepper, cumin, cloves and coconut milk ($23); Poussin Cafreal with cilantro, cashew nuts, green chili and cardamom ($24); Lamb Chop Coconut Fry with curry leaves, fennel and garam masala ($32); Malabari Lamb Biryani with kaima rice, caramelized onion, nutmeg and raisins ($25); Wild Mushroom & Potato Amotik with Kashmiri chili, malt vinegar and garlic ($19), as well as Gujarati Undhiyu with sweet potato, yam, snow peas and carrots ($19.) All entrĂ©es will be served with regional bread and rice.

Rasika West End, located at 1190 New Hampshire Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20037 (entrance on New Hampshire Avenue & M Street) is four blocks from the Foggy Bottom (GWU) metro accessible on the orange and blue lines and five blocks from the Dupont Circle metro accessible on the red line.  Lunch is served Monday through Friday, from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Dinner is served Monday through Thursday, from 5:30 PM to 10:30 PM; Friday and Saturday, from 5 PM to 11 PM; Sunday, from 5 PM to 10 PM. Brunch is served Sunday, from 11 AM to 2:30 PM.
