Georgetown Volleyball Defeats Butler in BIG EAST Home Opener

Georgetown University’s volleyball team closed out the final day of the 2019 Hoya Invitational with an emphatic 3-0 (25-15, 25-16, 25-17) sweep over Florida International in the de facto championship match to win the tournament title. Iva Vujosevic was named the tournament's most valuable player while Elissa Barbosa and Brennan Wilhite were both named to the all-tournament team as well.

Georgetown 3, Florida International 0 (25-15, 25-16, 25-17)
• The Hoyas won their sixth-straight match with the sweep over FIU to improve to 9-4 overall.
• Barbosa led the Hoyas with 12 kills while Wilhite added nine and Vujosevic chipped in eight.
Jessica Cusi added 11 digs for another double-digit performance as the libero.
• The Hoyas recorded six service aces, including three from Vujosevic.
• Georgetown was credited with seven blocks with Makayla Serrett anchoring the net with four.

Soph Brennan Wilhite (#20) added 10.5 points with 9 kills

Georgetown's Elissa Barbosa (#12) led all players with 13.5 points & 12 kills

SIDE OUT:
Georgetown remains home on Sunday as it hosts crosstown foe Howard to the Hilltop at 1 PM.

Sophomore Jessica Cusi (#2) led the Hoyas with 11 digs
