Cardinals Secure Top Seed with 20-3 Win Over Susquehanna

Catholic University women's lacrosse junior Julia Clementi scored a career-high five points and senior Megan Ellis scored her 100th career goal as the 10th-ranked Cardinals posted a 20-3 victory over Susquehanna Thursday night at Carlini Field.

Catholic (11-4, 6-0 LC) posted its 37th-straight Landmark Conference victory and secured the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament for the 10th time in 12 Landmark Conference Women's Lacrosse Championships.

Senior Megan Ellis (#23, 2 goals) draws a crowd

Clementi totaled two goals and a career-high three assists while Ellis scored twice to become the second Cardinal to score her 100th career goal this season, joining senior Jess Lyons who scored her 100th career goal in a 13-6 win at Messiah on March 16.

Clementi and Ellis headlined 14 players who had at least one point for Catholic who scored 20 goals for the fifth time this season. A total of 10 players had at least two points and six had at least two goals.

Sophomore Kate Behlen tied a career high with three points on two goals and one assist, equaling the mark she set with two goals and one assist in a 23-10 win against Johnson & Wales in the first round of the NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship on May 12, 2018.

Junior Ally Criscuolo scored 2 goals 

Junior Ally Criscuolo also had two goals and one assist while sophomore Bridget Beck had one goal and two assists. Senior Molly Kelly added one goal and one assist and has now totaled two goals and three assists in her last three games.

Senior Katie Sherry's (#32) goal gave Catholic a 2-0 lead

Junior Nanci Hernandez made two first-half saves before freshmen Rachel Searle and Emily Tremblay combined for three second-half saves as Catholic held its opponent to five goals or less for the fourth time this season. The Cardinals also forced 21 turnovers and held the River Hawks (6-8, 2-4 LC) to just 8-of-19 on clear attempts.

Junior Wendy El scored an unassisted goal

Catholic concludes the regular season with back-to-back road games beginning next Thursday, April 25 at Rowan. Opening draw is at 7 PM.
