Dyllan’s Raw Bar Grill Announces New Cooking & Cocktail Classes This Spring

Dyllan’s Raw Bar Grill, located along the historic C&O Canal in Georgetown at 1054 31st Street, NW, is pleased to unveil cooking & mixology classes with their new Cooking with Chef Darren series. Led by Chef de Cuisine Darren Hendry, cooking enthusiasts of all skill levels will learn how to prepare some of Dyllan’s most popular dishes in the restaurant’s expansive prep kitchen. Classes are priced from $55 to $65 per person (all inclusive), which includes a complimentary glass of red, white or sparkling wine upon arrival, a welcome packet including a $10 gift certificate for a future visit, a Dyllan’s hat, as well as take-home recipe cards. Classes are limited to 10 attendees, keeping the experience friendly and relaxed. Additionally, Mixologist Allison Boyd will also lead a series of cocktail & wine classes this spring in the restaurants full-service bar. Beverage classes are priced from $35 to $45 per person (all inclusive), which includes a flight or wine or two complimentary cocktails along a collection of snacks and keepsake recipe cards/tasting notes. Date Night - Craft Cocktails on Wednesday, March 13 and Wednesday, May 15, from 7 PM to 9 PM. Part intuition, part science, Dyllan’s beverage team, led by Mixologist Allison Boyd, will share how to build the perfect craft cocktail. Attendees can look forward to a balanced evening of learning and fun. Quick and Easy Soup Night on Thursday, March 14, from 6 PM to 8 PM. For those cold winter nights, guests will learn to prepare three signature soup recipes, including Oyster Pot; Chicken & Andouille Sausage Gumbo and Tomato Saffron Soup. Shellfish Shucking on Sunday, March 24 and Sunday, May 19, from 4 PM to 6 PM. Teaching the true technique to open the hard-shell beauties, participants will learn how to prepare shellfish for consumption, along with the differences between the East and West Coast oysters and clams. Guests will also learn to make the popular condiments, including cocktail sauce and mignonette. Wine Pairing on Wednesday, April 17 and Wednesday, June 12, from 7 PM to 9 PM. Winos will learn to swirl, sniff, sip, and savor wine in a scientific way as Dyllan’s beverage team, led by Mixologist Allison Boyd, by will teach guests how to read a wine list, understand flavor profiles and how to pair wine with food. Attendees can look forward to a selection of Dyllan’s signature dishes perfectly paired to the featured wine and take-home tasting notes. Roll Your Own Sushi on Thursday, April 18, from 6 PM to 8 PM. Guests will learn how to select ideal fish for sushi making along with how to make sushi rice and their signature rolls such as Dyllan’s Veg Roll; Spicy Tuna Roll; Salmon Roll and Hamachi Roll. Fish Stew on Thursday, May 16, from 6 PM to 8 PM. Teaching the one pot method, attendees will learn the seven different fish ingredients and the other special elements of Dyllan’s signature fish stew. Professional Tacos the Easy Way on Thursday, June 13, from 6 PM to 8 PM. Participants will learn how to make simple and tasty tacos like a pro.
