Giant Food Announces Two New Store Openings in Northern Virginia
Grocer opens two new stores with upgraded features in Herndon and Alexandria
Giant Food, the leading greater Washington, DC regional grocery chain, announced two new stores planned to open in Virginia in November 2018. The new locations, in Herndon and Alexandria, will offer enhanced benefits and expanded departments for local shoppers.
The new and upgraded features offered at both stores include expanded natural and organic departments, larger produce, ethnic food, beer and wine selections, hot food bars and more. Additional store offerings will include free WiFi and a full-service PNC Bank at both stores, as well as a Starbucks Café in Alexandria. Both stores will also feature a full-service pharmacy and self-checkout for added convenience.

"Both stores in Herndon and Alexandria will feature excellent selections and offerings for shoppers, such as a delicious hot food bar, larger produce department, expanded ethnic and international food selections and full-service deli, seafood, meat and floral departments. These stores are an exciting piece of our ongoing expansion and improvement initiatives."
The new Herndon, VA location opens at 2425 Centerville Road on November 9th and the Alexandria, VA location opens at 6200 Little River Turnpike on November 16th. The two new stores will allow for the addition of more than 250 new jobs for the local communities.
Loyal customers who shop at 1228 Elden St in Herndon and 5730 Edsall Road in Alexandria will not experience any interruption in service, as the two new larger stores will open the morning after the nearby locations close their doors.
