A Partner in Hope and Discovery - The Inn Is Part of Finding Cures
The Children’s Inn at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), a private nonprofit, today announced its 5th Annual An Evening for Hope gala will take place on April 28, 2018, at The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner.
As a partner with the NIH in medical discovery, The Inn provides “a place like home” to families of children and young adults with rare, undiagnosed and life-threatening diseases. The gala is The Inn’s largest single fundraiser and draws about 800 supporters, including more than 100 senior government executives who share in the commitment to help children and advance medical research.
“After long days of tests and treatments at the NIH Clinical Center, children and their families can relax together in our comforting environment, enjoy nourishing meals and participate in a wide range of fun and healing activities at The Inn, where we do everything we can to make childhood possible despite illness,” said Jennie Lucca, CEO, The Children’s Inn at NIH. “Our unique partnership with the NIH allows us to serve more than 1,700 families every year, providing the critical financial relief and the emotional, social and educational support our residents need. We are grateful to our dedicated community of supporters and sponsors who do so much to help seriously ill children.”
Funds raised from the gala go toward The Inn’s efforts to provide families free, convenient access to the medical experts conducting cutting-edge research at the NIH Clinical Center to help ill children now and benefit generations to come.
“Families travel to The Children’s Inn from all over the world in hopes that a research study at the NIH may bring about new treatments or cures,” said Todd Pantezzi, 2018 An Evening for Hope chair and senior vice president of ICF. “It’s only through the extended hand of private donors that The Inn can carry out its critical mission to reduce the burden of illness on these children and their families.”
Gala guests will enjoy dinner, live and silent auctions, and have the opportunity to connect with other Inn supporters at an after-party. Event sponsors include NETE at the platinum level, and Allscripts, Eagle Bank and RTI International at the bronze level. Additional sponsorship opportunities and tables are available for a limited time. The Inn is also accepting donated items for the live and silent auctions.
