First Chesapeake Oyster & Beer Festival to Be Held at the Capitol Riverfront, October 21

Tell Trump and Congress to Go "Shuck It" at the First Chesapeake Oyster & Beer Festival, Capitol Riverfront, October 21

The Chesapeake Oyster & Beer Festival, produced by The Trigger Agency, is coming to the Capitol Riverfront on Saturday, October 21 to benefit the Spirit of Hope Children’s Foundation. The all-day Festival features over 50 wines, beers, spirits and over 30,000  oysters, plus one angry mermaid.

“If you like Seafood and especially Oysters, this is the weekend and this is the place,” said festival founder Greg Nivens. “Enjoy the world’s best oyster shuckers, smell the fire under the grilled oysters, taste the briny flavor of the steamed seafood, and watch the action while the symphony of tastes play on right before your eyes - Just watch out for the Mermaid - she’s really ticked-off and quite rude.”


There are two pricing options - Mermaid’s Bounty Admission at $79 per person, and Poseidon’s General Admission at $39 advance, $45 on-site. The event will offer live music, great shucking action, spirits, food trucks and more.

VIP Mermaid’s Bounty Admission includes: Access from noon to 6 PM. All-you-care-to-taste extravaganza, 1000’s of oysters served raw, steamed, grilled and roasted. Unlimited food tastes from noon to 3 PM, souvenir glass, Charleston Seafood boil, New England Clambake, Lobster steam, Champagne toast, VIP seated tent, live music on stage.

Poseidon’s General Admission includes: All-you-care-to-taste, over 30 wines, beer and spirits, a souvenir glass, oysters and other food a la carte, food trucks, music on the live stage, and a few surprises!

Designated Driver Tickets will be available ON-SITE only for $45 for VIP, $25 for General Admission.

The Food menu includes: New England Clambake, Charleston Seafood Boil/Frogmore Stew, Steamed Lobster, Steamed Shrimp, Steamed Oysters, Steamed Clams, Steamed Crawfish, Baked Oysters, Grilled Oysters, BBQ’ d Oysters, Chili & Cornbread, Crabby Tots, Crawfish Étouffée, Pit Beef Sliders, and Whole Smoked Alligator.

Raw Oysters Shucking list includes: Double T's, Shore Things, War Shore Oyster / Battle Creek Oyster, Rocky Shores, Tatamaguche, Malpeques, Fire lakes, Caribous, Blues points, Delaware Bays, Shooting points, Bullseye's, Salt ponds, Well fleets, Duxburys, Naked cowboys, Sugar shacks, Arrow heads, and Caraquets.
