Bastille Offers Patio Cocktails

Now that warmer weather is here, Bastille's serenely comfortable patio, set back adjacent to the restaurant is a spot to enjoy dining and cocktails al fresco. Beverage manager, Michael Williams has crafted a variety of libations perfect for outdoor indulgence.

Among the selections:

"Loudoun County Daisy"
Daisies are among the first craft cocktails made in the US in the mid-to-late 19th century. Bastille’s version is made with Catoctin Creek Watershed Gin, house-made lime cordial, Liquore Strega (flavored with anise and saffron) and Peychaud’s Bitters with a splash of club soda added just before serving that adds verve to this zippy, refreshing, patio-friendly drink.

"Take Your Medicine"
Contrary to the ominous name, this cocktail is not only a mood-lifter, but almost addictive.  Malty Genever is the base, with fresh lemon and sweet, rich Crème de Mûre providing a fruity, refreshing lift. Bona Gentiane Quina adds complexity and a very slight bitterness that keeps this drink grounded. Fluffy organic egg white adds texture to this striking cocktail; perfect for evenings on a festively lit patio.

"People of the Sun"
This drink transports its sippers to the tropics. Zingy passion fruit, juicy mandarin liqueur from the locally made Don Ciccio e Figli, chipotle infused vodka, and smoky Mezcal infuse frothy egg white with exotic flavors. It’s like a ‘patio vacation.’

These cocktails are perfect with some small plates or a full meal from Bastille’s contemporary French menu, and of course, can be enjoyed indoors at Bastille as well.

Bastille is now open Monday through Saturday from 11:30 AM until 10 PM, and Sunday 11:30 AM until 9 PM serving brunch, lunch, dinner and all day dining with café and bar menu offered.
