Patti LaBelle began her career as the lead singer of The Bluebelles in the 1960s, and became a mainstay of popular music after releasing a flurry of solo hits in the early 1980s, followed by the release of her number one album, Winner in You, in 1986. The incomparable LaBelle has released more than 25 albums to date.


LaBelle has parlayed her success as a recording artist to guest star in hit TV shows Empire, A Different World, American Horror Story, and Dancing with the Stars.

The “Godmother of Soul” has been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame, the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame, and the Apollo Theater Hall of Fame. She’s also received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Additionally, Rolling Stone named LaBelle one of the 100 Greatest Singers.

In addition to numerous cookbooks and instructional DVDs for home cooks, LaBelle has more recently introduced a line of signature sauces and marinades called Patti’s Good Life. The singer partnered with Walmart in 2015 to offer the Patti LaBelle Sweet Potato Pie, stirring consumers into a pre-Thanksgiving frenzy after a video review of the famed pie went viral.

LaBelle is an advocate for adoption, foster care, Big Sisters, the United Negro College Fund, and the American Diabetes Association, among many others.
