Discover the Norwegian Miracle, Skrei, Exclusively at Legal Sea Foods This March

From our friends at Legal Sea Foods...

The award-winning restaurant, Legal Sea Foods, invites guests to discover the ultra-premium Norwegian Cod prized for its beautiful white meat, delicate flake and extraordinary flavor. From March 3rd through 30th, three of Legal Sea Foods’ Washington area restaurants will be adding a special entrĂ©e featuring Skrei to their popular a la carte menu. The Norwegian Skrei with green olives, Meyer lemon-artichoke relish, fingerling potatoes and Brussels sprouts with bacon will be priced at $27.95.

Since the time the Vikings roamed the seas, the annual arrival of “The Norwegian Miracle” has been a cause for celebration. From the Norse word for “wanderer,” Skrei is a true culinary delicacy. The cod spends most of its life in the nutrient-rich Barents Sea, but when it reaches maturity (at around the age of five) it migrates back the Norwegian coast to spawn. Between January-April small fishing vessels catch and handle the fish according to rigorous quality standards so it remains in immaculate condition. Skrei has a firm consistency and the meat is very white, light and lean. The fish’s silky-smooth flavor and clean taste come from swimming in the cold, pristine waters of Norway.
