America Eats Tavern Hosts Inaugural Oyster Festival
Chef José Andrés & culinary team celebrate National Oyster Month with menu specials & complimentary tastings
Award-winning Chef José Andrés and America Eats Tavern Head Chef Nate Waugaman will host the inaugural Oyster Festival November 1-30, 2015. To celebrate the local specialty, guests will enjoy an Oyster-inspired Chef’s Tasting Menu featuring menu items such as:
• Oyster Stew - Sherry, trout roe, wilted green onion, oyster crackers, lemon butter air; Paired with Barren Ridge, Chardonnay, VA 2013
• Oyster Sliders - Nashville Hot Chicken-Style, house-made Parker House Rolls, bread and butter pickles; Paired with Flying Dog Pearl Necklace Oyster Stout
• Peanut Crusted Oysters - Wild blueberry-onion jam, ham air; Paired with Chateau Grand Traverse, Gamay Noir, Old Mission Peninsula, MI 2013
• Oyster and Sweetbread ‘Pie’ - Crispy fried sweetbreads, warmed oysters, potato espuma, tarragon oil; Paired with Tablas Creek, Rhone Blend Patelin de Tablas, Paso Robles, CA 2013
Complimentary tastings will also be offered throughout the festival, spotlighting Virginia’s best beer and wine distributors including Lindera Farms Vinegar, Tablas Creek Vineyards, War Shore Oysters and Victory Brewing Company.
WHO: Chef José Andrés and his critically acclaimed culinary team, including America Eats Tavern Head Chef Nate Waugaman, will pay homage to one of Virginia’s most renowned regional specialties, combining food, drink and festivities.
