Georgetown Events Gears Up for Halloween 2015

From our friends at Georgetown Events...

DC Restaurant and Event Group Hosting Noteworthy Events on All Hallows’ Eve

Halloween 2015 is going to be quite the occasion for Georgetown Events, the DC-based restaurant and event group, who is hosting three fun-filled events on Saturday, October 31st. Founder Bo Blair is looking forward to hosting events that have something for everyone, from family activities such as the Pumpkin Rock ‘N Roll, to late-night celebrations at Bayou and the Sphinx Club for the younger Washingtonian crowd.

“We’re very excited to be offering three exceptional events this year,” said Blair, who owns and oversees several established DC restaurants in the area, such as Smith Point, Jetties, Surfside, Bayou, and others. “As the father of three young children, I am looking forward to the Pumpkin Rock N’ Roll, where kids can create their very own ‘pumpkin cars’ to race and win prizes. We’re also thrilled to be hosting our Third Annual Haunted Hunt at the Sphinx Club, as well as Bayou’s Annual Halloween Party. We pride ourselves on planning events to suit everyone’s tastes.”

The First Annual Pumpkin Rock N’ Roll is from 12-4 PM at Warner Circle Park in Kensington, Maryland. Here, families will gather and enjoy live music from Sean Gaiser of GIGS Studios, great food from local food trucks, fun games for kids of all ages, costume contests, and most importantly, pumpkin racing. Families can design and build a boxcar constructed out of a pumpkin, which will be raced from the sloping driveway of the Warner Mansion. Derby racers must register ahead of time on the event’s website, www.pumpkinrocknroll.com.

The Third Annual Haunted Hunt is hosted by Georgetown Events and Smith Point, and is scheduled to take place from 9pm to 2am on Halloween Night. The main ballroom of the Sphinx Club sets the scene for this year’s venue, along with a large dance floor and multiple bars on the main level and mezzanine. Tickets for this event include an open bar with beer, wine, and liquor from 9 PM - 2 AM. Be sure to bring cash for the Fireball bar, providing fireball shots for $5 cash each, on the upper level. Musical entertainment will be provided by White Ford Bronco and Jeff from Accounting, two of DC’s most highly-acclaimed cover bands. The Haunted Hunt will also feature a costume contest, where the winner will receive a $300 bar tab at Smith Point and a $100 gift credit to use at either Jetties or Surfside restaurants. Tickets are currently $60 per person but will go up as the event approaches. They can be purchased at https://www.squadup.com/events/hauntedhunt2015.

The Annual Bayou Halloween Party is from 10 PM - 1:30 AM at Bayou, located at 2519 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW in Washington, DC. Drink specials include $5 “Haunted Hurricanes” and “Ectoplasm Punches,” appropriately named for All Hallow’s Eve. Katita and the Fajitas is reuniting for their “Back from the Dead” show this year, playing covers of some of DC’s favorite songs. The band will also be judging this year’s costume contest, awarding the winner a $200 bar tab at Bayou. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at https://www.squadup.com/events/bayouhalloween.
