Naples Introduces Italian Tradition of Aperitivo to Bethesda
Aperitivo Happy Hour Features Drink Specials and Complimentary Assaggini
Naples Ristorante e Pizzeria e Bar is now offering an aperitivo happy hour menu every day of the week from 4 to 6 p.m. In Italy, Aperitivo is more than an after-work drink - it is a time to relax and whet the appetite before a meal. During the passeggiata (strolling hours) before dinner, it is customary for bars and cafés to display a selection of complimentary small tastes called assaggini to draw in patrons.
Naples’ daily drink specials include $6 cocktails mixed with a choice of spirits, $6 sangria and a $7 Aperol Spritz - a true Italian aperitif and refreshing nod to the summer months ahead. Italian-brewed Peroni and Moretti La Rossa, as well as Stella Artois, are served on draft for $6. Wine enthusiasts will delight in three distinctive, Italian wines available for $6 a glass: extra dry Prosecco Cantina “Montelliana,” crisp Pinot Grigio DiLenardo or bold, full-bodied Merlot Falesco.
Complimentary, shareable assaggini is another reason to toast aperitivo as the best happy hour in Bethesda. They include a salumi board of Italian cured meats, crostini, and authentic Neapolitan margherita pizzas served fresh from the wood-fired oven.
In addition to happy hour, Naples is now serving lunch daily. Delectable Neapolitan-style entrees such as whole branzino on a bed of crisp potatoes, flavorful pollo al mattone paired with fresh escarole, and hearty swordfish with eggplant relish and capers are available from 12-9 PM. Monday through Saturday, and 12-8 PM on Sundays.
