Pitch Perfect 2 Movie Review

Anna Kendrick and Hailee Steinfeld (r) star in Pitch Perfect 2

Where Them Girls At

IMDb Plot: After a humiliating command performance at Lincoln Center, the Barden Bellas enter an international competition that no American group has ever won, in order to regain their status and right to perform.

The Bellas are back in Pitch Perfect 2, a fun-filled ride that seems to run out of ideas (and laughs) midway through. There are jokes aplenty early on (mostly off-color) especially by director Elizabeth Banks and John Michael Higgins, and strong performances by Rebel Wilson and Keegan-Michael Key... but it's hard to buy into a group of college women who never attend class with an average real-life age of 29 (Wilson's 35!) More random than the original, and only half as charming... It's still worth a look-see, but "maybe it's time to think about other stuff." Color me slightly dis-aca-pointed.
