From our friends at DC Jazz Festival...

Festival Prelude Celebrates the Jazz and the Visual Arts, June 6-7

The DC Jazz Festival (DCJF) and The Phillips Collection continue their partnership, hosting the highly popular annual Jazz ‘n Families Fun Days on Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 7. The free, weekend-long prelude to the 2015 DC Jazz Festival takes place at The Phillips Collection, and offers families enriching and enjoyable performances and activities that celebrate the synergy between jazz and the visual arts.

“We’ll have some of the region’s finest artists and rising stars performing in the Music Room and to improvised pieces inspired by The Phillips Collection’s intimate galleries, as well as fun-filled activities and a scavenger hunt to introduce children to the rich traditions of jazz and art,” said DCJF Executive Director Sunny Sumter. “The Festival’s partnership with The Phillips Collection allows us to provide an unforgettable jazz and art experience for parents and children alike.”

Part of the annual Dupont-Kalorama Museum Walk Weekend, the two-day art-inspired celebration will feature musical performances by more than a dozen regional artists and rising stars.
