DC LaborFest Begins May 1st with 50 Arts Events

Second Annual DC LaborFest Kicks Off May 1st with Over 50 Labor Arts Events

Full month-long program line-up includes screenings of “Pride” and “Chavez,” among others

The 2nd annual DC LaborFest, hosted by the AFL-CIO’s Metro Washington Council, will begin on May 1st and run for the entire month of May. The program features more than 50 labor arts events highlighting the diverse experiences of American workers throughout history. Anchoring the LaborFest is the 15th annual DC Labor FilmFest, one of the oldest and largest labor-themed film festivals in the country.

This year’s program begins on May 1st with several events, including a screening of the popular film Pride at the American Film Institute in Silver Spring, MD and a wreath-laying ceremony at the Mother Jones Marker.
