City Tap House Hosts Events to Coincide with Savor: An American Craft Beer & Food Experience June 5-6

City Tap House, the craft beer-focused restaurant located at 901 9th Street, NW, 20001, is celebrating Savor: An American Craft Beer & Food Experience’s return to Washington, DC with a weekend of fun-filled events. Craft beer aficionados will not want to miss the Barrel-Aged Night on Wednesday, June 3rd; Dogfish Head Tap Takeover on Thursday, June 4th; Late Night Brunch with Ithaca Brewing on Friday, June 5th; Wicked Weed Brewing & New Belgium Brewing Tap Takeover on Saturday, June 6th, as well as the Second Annual Locals Only Brunch on Sunday, June 7th. •  Barrel-Aged Night will be held on Wednesday, June 3rd from 5 PM to Close. City Tap House will showcase big brews that have been barrel-aged in bourbon, brandy, wine and more. Guests can anticipate standout beers such as Allagash Midnight Brett, Allagash Century Ale, Allagash James Bean, Allagash Moira Ale, Allagash Golden Brett, Allagash Odyssey, Allagash Currant Affair, Allagash Fluxus 2014, Allagash Confluence 2014, Allagash Interlude 2014, Laughing Dog The Dogfather, Devil’s Backbone Bourbon Barrel-Aged Dark Abbey, 3 Stars Desolation, 3 Stars Brandy Lyn, 3 Stars Barrel-Aged From Russia With Love and 3 Stars Harvester of Sorrow, among others. Prices range from $6 to $13 per draft. Additionally, representatives from theses breweries will be on hand throughout the evening.


•  Dogfish Head Tap Takeover will be held on Thursday, June 4th from 5 PM to Close. City Tap House will dedicate all 40 draft lines to Dogfish Head Brewing Company, and pour their year round and seasonal rarities exclusively from 5 PM to Close. Standouts include 120-Minute IPA, 60-Minute IPA, 90-Minute IPA, Sixty-One, Aprihop, Chateau Jiahu, India Brown Ale, Noble Rot, Namaste, Festina Peche, Black & Blue, Noble Rot, Burton Baton, Palo Santo Marron, Midas Touch, Raison D’Extra, Chicory Stout, 2011 120-Minute IPA, American Beauty, Birra Etrusca, Kvasir, Theobroma, Saison Du Buff 2012, Olde School Barley-wine 2013. Prices range from $6 to $13 per draft.  Additionally, brewers and representatives from Dogfish Head Brewing Company will be on hand throughout the evening.

•  City Tap House will host Late Night Brunch with Ithaca Brewing on Friday, June 5th from 10 PM to 1 AM. City Tap House will load eight to ten of their lines with beers from Ithaca Beer Co. out of Ithaca, New York. Highlights include Embrr, Flower Power, Apricot Wheat Ale, White Gold Rustic Pale Wheat Ale, Anniversary 17 (a double wheat IPA with brettanomyces), CascaZilla, Nut Brown, Green Trail IPA, Anniversary Sixteen (aged in red wine barrels), CranBretty and Cayuga Cruiser. Prices range from $6 to $12 per draft. For the perfect pairing, Culinary Director Brian Cooke will whip up popular items from their weekend brunch menu including the Ham & Cheese, shaved Benton’s ham, spicy pimento cheese, pickled green tomato and crostini; Biscuits & Gravy, country sausage gravy, buttermilk biscuits, Cabot cheddar and fried eggs; House-smoked Salmon Hash, shaved fennel, fingerling potatoes, poached eggs and hollandaise; Honey Goat Cheese Pizza with sliced red onion, pistachio, rosemary and truffled honey, as well as The Big Chick, buttermilk biscuit, fried chicken, Benton’s bacon, sausage gravy and a fried egg. Brunch prices range from $5 to $26.

•  Wicked Weed Brewing & New Belgium Brewing Tap Takeover will be held on Saturday, June 6th from 7 PM to Close. City Tap House will feature 10 draft lines from New Belgium Brewing out of Ft. Collins, Colorado, and 10 draft lines from Wicked Weed Brewing out ofAsheville, North Carolina. Standouts include Fat Tire Amber Ale, Slow Ride Session IPA, Le Terroir Dry Hopped Sour Ale, Sunshine Wheat, Hop Tart (Hop Kitchen), Transatlantique Kriek, Cocoa MolĂ©, Ranger IPA, Pear Ginger Beer, and Snapshot Wheat. Beer fans won’t want to miss the exclusive opportunity to sample Wicked Weed Brewing’s craft big-flavor, hop-forward beers that are not yet available in Washington, DC. Prices range from $6 to $13 per draft. Additionally, representatives from both breweries will be on hand throughout the evening.

Second Annual Locals Only Brunch will be held Sunday, June 7th, from 11 AM to 3 PM. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy a la carte dishes off Brian Cooke’s regular brunch menu along with a 40-line tap takeover showcasing beers out of Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and the District of Columbia including 3 Stars Brewing Company, Atlas Brew Works, DC Brau Brewing Company, Hellbender Brewing Company, Denizens Brewing Co., Evolution Craft Brewing Company, Flying Dog Brewery, Dogfish Head Brewery, Port City Brewing Company, Devil’s Backbone Brewing Company, Hardywood Park Craft Brewery, Lost Rhino Brewing Company and Starr Hill Brewery, among others. All beers will be available a la carte with prices ranging from $6 to $13 for 10 ounce & 16 ounce pours.
