Bistrot Royal, Old Town Alexandria’s quaint French Bistrot, is celebrating Mardi Gras with a special pairing of Shrimp Beignets and a Vieux Carre. This classic cocktail is named after the oldest neighborhood in New Orleans, the French Quarter, and is a staple around the Big Easy. The rye whiskey in the Vieux Carre brings out the sweetness in the shrimp and makes for the perfect happy hour combo or a delicious entrée to any of the bistrot’s familiar French dishes.
