Blackhat Movie Review

Chris Hemsworth stars in Blackhat

I Smell a Rat

Rotten Tomatoes Plot: Set within the world of global cybercrime, Legendary's Blackhat follows a furloughed convict and his American and Chinese partners as they hunt a high-level cybercrime network from Chicago to Los Angeles to Hong Kong to Jakarta.

Michael Mann almost trumps Olivier Megaton (Taken 3) for worst director "honors" with his abysmally shot/written Blackhat. Most of the camerawork is out of frame (and focus) and it's almost impossible to understand comely co-star Tang Wei. Then there's the story... Duh-umb. After 1,001 keystrokes, Chris Hemsworth breaks into 007 mode; but seems lost without his Thor hammer and persona. If not for a delightfully sassy Viola Davis, "You can call me chica anytime you want," this movie would be a total wash. Boring, hard to follow and implausible, Blackhat simply doesn't compute (especially at 133 minutes.)
