Rock the Red
After the fact, the big takeaway from yesterday's
NatsFest was who
wasn't there (
Bryce Harper) but so far as I could tell, it didn't matter much to the thousands of folks "rockin' the
red" at the
Walter E. Washington Convention Center. I've covered my fair share events at the Convention Center (including
Awesome Con) but I've yet to find a more passionate group of fans in one place. What's next? A World Series?
There was tons to do, especially for kids; and if yesterday's turnout was any indication, the nation's capital may soon be trading in its burgundy & gold (Hail to the Deadskins!) for anything red (including the
Caps, who enjoyed another sterling win at a sold-out Verizon Center last night.) Hats off to
Ted Lerner,
Mike Rizzo and reigning
NL Manager of the Year Matt Williams for giving DC sports fans something to cheer about.
