5 Reasons Why Brunch Has Become Busiest Meal of the Week at Medium Rare

For many, brunch has become a trend that brings people together. While it was once only for those who slept in and looked for a late-served breakfast, today there’s a whole layer of style that goes along with it. Brunch is trendy, fun, and is now used as a social gathering for friends and family. It’s where laughs and memories are made, co workers, and neighbors gather, half tired to simply talk. As the work week winds down, there’s not many smart phones in hands or on tables. People just gather to be with each other. And there’s one place, Medium Rare, in the Washington D.C. area, that has become the epicenter for the new meal to be seen out and the new rules for weekend brunch.

“Brunch is now a weekly gathering of friends or co-workers who can bond and communicate in a laid-back setting,” explains Mark Bucher, co-owner of Medium Rare, with two locations in the D.C. area. “In D.C., brunch has drastically changed from the bygone days of massive hotel brunches, with jazz music and $100 per person price tags, to now a meal for millennials and offers real value in terms of cost and offerings.”

This helps to explain why so many people make Medium Rare their place for weekend brunch. Here are 5 reasons when having brunch in Washington D.C., it should be at Medium Rare:
  1. All inclusive. The weekend brunch at Medium Rare, which means that for one price ($23 per person), the restaurant offers three courses and this is the only time they veer from their traditional steak and frites menu. Their twist on French Toast has often been named the “best ever,” by many people who have tried it.
  2. Bottomless drinks. Brunch makes for the perfect time to try some favorite drinks, such as bloody Marys, screwdrivers, and mimosa’s. They are all included in the price, and they are bottomless, adding a great way to add to brunch, rather than the tab.
  3. Steak and secret sauce. Medium Rare is famous for its steak frites (steak and fries), as well as the secret sauce that is on the steak. The sauce is top-secret information, with only the owners knowing exactly what’s in it. The sauce also happens to go extremely well with eggs.
  4. Variety. Brunch diners will find a variety of foods to choose from on the brunch menu, including fresh fruit, steak frites, steak and eggs, eggs Benedict, egg frites and artisanal sausage, and French toast. The menu has something for everyone in both food and drink.
  5. Environment. Those who go to brunch are looking for a fun and relaxing atmosphere, which is exactly what Medium Rare provides. Bucher, who was a top rated radio DJ, makes his own playlist for diners to listen to. Diners can relax, enjoy their day and company, and eat great food.
“Brunch diners generally flock to where they identify with, the environment, the vibe and the food,” adds Bucher. “We are happy to provide both great food and an ideal atmosphere. DC is now the official brunch capitol of the world, surpassing New York; and we helped make it so.”
