Organizations bringing their shops on the road include The Kennedy Center, Hillwood Estate, Museum & Gardens, The Phillips Collection, National Building Museum, National Museum of Women in the Arts, The Popcorn Gallery at Glen Echo Park, National Geographic Museum, Shakespeare Theatre Company, Foundation for the National Archives, American University Museum - Katzen Arts Center, Just Imagine! The Shop at Imagination Stage, Brookside Gardens, Supreme Court Historical Society, International Spy Museum, Audubon Naturalist Society, Herb Cottage at Washington National Cathedral, Montgomery County Historical Society, President Lincoln’s Cottage, the College Park Aviation Museum, and, of course, Strathmore.
Admission is $8 if purchased online and $9 at the door. Admission is valid for all days of Museum Shop Around. Proceeds benefit arts and education programming at Strathmore. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.strathmore.org.

Among the abundance of eclectic treasures bursting from every corner of Museum Shop Around are fun and funky jewelry like baubles crafted from mixed metals, positive quotes stamped on metal plates, and vintage finds; sleek, organic handcrafted sterling jewelry; and iridescent bracelets made from glass cast in bronze. On the softer side are wearables such as vibrant handmade silk chiffon and merino wool scarves, colorful fingerless mittens made from soft recycled cotton, and reversible bags in durable and eco-friendly fabrics created in limited productions.
Forever embracing the offbeat and quirky, Museum Shop Around will also feature hand-carved wooden beard combs; kitschy candy cane and guitar tea infusers; plantable paper herb kits with vintage silverware garden markers; hand-poured soy candles in repurposed wine bottles in vino-inspired fragrances; limited edition Blenko Glass hand-blown water bottles celebrating the seasons; socks emblazoned with classic works of art, and more. Kids will delight in the felted puppets and stuffed animals of Cate & Levi, exercise their minds with adorable puzzles from BeginAgain, and get creative while they eat with washable doodle placements from British company doodle by stitch. Shoppers can whistle while they work - and eat - in the kitchen with musically-themed TrebleMaker mugs, Here Comes Treble aprons, potholders and mitts; playful puppet dish glove’s from Fred and Friends that turn chore time to fun time; and tea mugs that become hot tubs when loose tea leaves are tossed into the pants of the Mr. Tea infuser. Lightly scented olive oil-based soap in felted wool and quadruple-milled, all-natural soaps packaged with inspirational quotes and photographs turn the bathroom into a luxurious sanctuary.
Free parking is available in the Mansion lot on a space-available basis, located at 10701 Rockville Pike. Additional parking is available in the Grosvenor-Strathmore Metro garage. A SmarTrip or credit card will be required for payment to exit the Metro garage on Thursday, November 13 and Friday, November 14, 2013. Parking on Saturday and Sunday at the Metro garage is free.
To provide ease of movement for shoppers, Strathmore asks that visitors do not bring strollers to Museum Shop Around.
