Drew the Dramatic Fool
Innocent, Wholesome and Deranged!
The Communications and Performing Arts Department of Montgomery College - Takoma/Silver Spring is proud to present the family friendly show, Drew the Dramatic Fool for a joyful evening of laughter on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at the Cultural Arts Center. The performance is part of the Montgomery College, Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus Performing Arts Showcase Series. Perry T. Schwartz is the producer.
Drew the Dramatic Fool reinvents the ancient art of foolery. Inspired by a thousands-of-years old tradition of royal jesters, vaudeville eccentrics, silent film comedians, animated cartoons and theatrical clowns, Drew offers amusement relevant for today‘s audiences by giving them laughter built on a range of human emotions, from joy to fear to despair and back to joy again.
The Chicago Tribune called the show, ““Ingenious!” and the Charleston Gazette raved, “Best Theatrical Experience of the year! If you like Bill Irwin, you have to see Drew… he’s a world-class visual comedian.”
He has performed nationwide on stage, for events and festivals and taught at as the University of Michigan, Roosevelt University, Columbia College, and the Art Institute of Chicago. He studied Theatrical Clowning under the tutelage of John Towsen at Ohio University and Jacques Lecoq in Paris.
