La Tomate Caffè Grand Opening

First impressions: I stopped by La Tomate's new La Tomate Caffè this afternoon... Very nice. Not much room, but enough for four small tables and a few seats by the window. Friendly staff, including a beautiful woman (yes, I notice) passing out free samples. Orders are placed at the counter... a few salads, sandwiches and small pastries. Some kind of menu on the wall would be helpful, as would posted prices for baked goods. For now, you're invited to glance at a one-page menu, then order.

Speaking of, I ordered a small chocolate croissant ($2) three macarons ($1 each, but I was only charged 3/$2) and a single shot espresso ($2.25.) Once I sat down, I felt as if I'd been transported to Florence or Milan (must be those tiny espresso cups.) Nice croissant (but not much chocolate.) Three macarons = three amazing bites; and my plain espresso... a lil' taste of Heaven. Charming atmosphere, save for the loud couple at the next table (use indoor voices, please.) Warm farewell from aforementioned beautiful woman. Life is good.

La Tomate Caffè is open weekdays 8:30 AM - 10:00 PM, and weekends 9:00 AM - 10:00 PM. Click here to see their full menu.
