Day one of the 22nd annual
Safeway Barbecue Battle began under the threat of rain, but evidently Mother Nature likes good barbecue as much as the next gal/guy. Big crowds filled Pennsylvania Avenue between 9th & 14th Streets for a day of barbecue, giveaways and music. The giveaways were especially plentiful, including gorgeous Rancher's Reserve aprons, courtesy of
Safeway.
