I came in search of a book signing; but found a
party instead.
Carla Hall appeared at the Friendship Heights
Lord & Taylor earlier this afternoon, wowing an appreciative crowd with charm, elegance and her
John Hancock "Carla Hall" on hardback copies of her new book
Carla's Comfort Foods: Favorite Dishes from Around the World. If you thought Hall was charming on
Top Chef (seasons 5 & 8) or her current gig as co-host of ABC's
The Chew, just
wait until you meet her in person. The former model greets every fan with a hug and seems genuinely interested in hearing what
you have to say. If she ever gets bored with cooking and/or TV, she could have a big career in politics. Mayor Hall... Has a nice ring to it, no?
In addition to posing for photos, and signing copies of her book, Hall arrived bearing
gifts cookies... specifically her
bite-size artisan cookies, on sale locally at
Glen's Garden Market,
Wagshal's, Whole Foods & other upscale vendors. Best of all, she brought
lots of 'em (Don't you hate lining up for just
one of something?) What's the verdict on the cookies? Yum, yum, yum. Ditto for Ms. Hall!
