Custom FUEL opened its
third DC location today, taking over the much sought-after 1635 Connecticut Avenue, NW space, two blocks north of Dupont Circle (former home to
Potbelly...
yawn.) Today's bow was officially a
soft opening; but that didn't stop hundreds of hungry pizza fans from getting their first (of many, many) pizza fixes.
Speaking of pizza... Co-owner Zach Current has been busy concocting
five new pizza creations, including my latest favorite,
Cipollini Onion, Chicken Sausage & Roasted Red Peppers. Trust me, you're gonna
love chicken sausage. Also debuting, the truly decadent
Mushroom & Truffle Cream, which puts the
P in Premium Pizza. I draw the line at
three pies in one sitting; but I can't wait to get my hands on
Prosciutto, Fig & Arugula with a blend of Gorgonzola and Mozzarella cheeses.
Riviera brings spinach, artichoke and Kalamata olives to the party; while
Spinach & Chicken Alfredo combines Alfredo sauce with roasted chicken, spinach and Parmesan-garlic cheese. Pies range from $6.57 for Just Cheese to $9.37 for seven different Premium pies, each one assembled before your eyes with your choice of add-ons/substitutions.

Plans for an
official opening celebration are still in the works, but Custom FUEL joins nearby
Five Guys as the ultimate 1-2 fast casual combination: Guess where
I'll be all summer? Custom FUEL's Dupont Circle location will be open seven days a week, 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM.
