Pro-Am Boxing Returns to Springfield, April 26th

It's time to "lace up the gloves," as boxing returns to Northern Virginia this Saturday night at the ABC Sports Complex. Jeter Promotions and RBA Promotions present a stacked nine-bout card featuring WBC FECARBOX Champion Tony "Mo Better" Jeter and Virginia's own, undefeated Todd "White Lightning" Wilson. V.I.P. tickets cost $75 and general admission seats will set you back just half a C-note ($50.) Doors open at 6:30 PM with the first fight getting under way an hour later.

Wilson (15-0, 4 KOs) will attempt to capture the vacant Universal Boxing Federation (UBF) All America Light Welterweight title, in an eight-round co-feature bout. Jeter, fighter/promoter/Renaissance man will defend his FECARBOX Middleweight belt in a 10-rounder midway through the card. Both Jeter (16-4-1, 11 KOs) & Wilson are considered top contenders; and the chance to see them compete on the same night is a real treat.

Also scheduled to appear, Light Middleweight and local favorite (Alexandria, Virginia) Brandon Quarles. Quarles looks to improve on his 12-2-1 record against an opponent to be determined (Most local fight cards aren't official until a day or two before fight night.) Quarles looked downright impressive last month, when he scored a first round TKO of Travis Davidson at the Annandale Boys and Girls Club.

Other fighters likely to battle are Super Middleweights Jerry Odom (10-0) and Edgar Perez (5-8) Cruiserweight Jean Pierre Augustin (2-0) Lightweight Ikem Orji (7-4) and Welterweights Yurii Polischuk (3-1-1) & Edgar "The Tiger" Torres (4-0-1) from Springfield, Virginia. Torres last fought at the ABC Sports Complex in October 2013, when he made quick work (2nd round TKO) of Greg Thomas (0-2) in Torres' debut at 152 lb.

The ABC Sports Complex is located at 6728 Commercial Drive in Springfield, Virginia (click here for directions.) To purchase tickets for Bulldog Brawl, call (410) 729-3900. See you ringside.
