DC Shot of the Day - Don Quixote

Don Quixote

Chivalry may be dead; but Don Quixote is alive & well, guarding the entrance of the Kennedy Center with his faithful steed Rocinante in Aurelio Teno's enigmatic Don Quixote. The bronze & stone statue shows Quixote brandishing a 12' steel lance; and was given to the United States by King Juan Carlos I and Queen SofĂa of Spain in honor of our 1976 Bicentennial. It's definitely one of the city's more unique outdoor sculptures.
